Pietro Valsecchi, PhD — PTC Operational Excellence Expert at Covestro. Registered Professional Engineer with more than 10 years experience in R&D, manufacturing, and project management. Dr. Yuanyuan Xie is an Assistant Professor working in the Department of Mechanical Engineering of California State University, Fresno. He earned his doctorate degree from the University of South Carolina, Columbia in the year of 2013. His research spans from transport phenomenon, electrochemical systems, energy storage & conversion, and multi-scale modeling. Dr. Xie is also an active member of Material Research Society, the Electrochemical Society and the American Society of Mechanical Engineering.
Dr. Jian-Qiao Sun earned a BS degree in Solid Mechanics from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in Wuhan, China in 1982, a MS and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from University of California at Berkeley in 1984 and 1988. He worked for Lord Corporation at their Corporate R&D Center in Cary, North Carolina. In 1994, Dr. Sun joined the faculty in the department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Delaware as an Assistant Professor, was promoted to Associate Professor in 1998 and to Professor in 2003. He joined University of California at Merced in 2007, and served as the chair of the Department of Mechanical Engineering in School of Engineering in 2017-2021. Besides many other editorial experiences, he is the Editor-in-Chief of International Journal of Dynamics and Control published by Springer. His research interests include time-delayed dynamic systems, stochastic non-linear dynamics and control, cell mapping methods, multi-objective optimization, high-density piezoelectric energy harvesting from highway traffic, data-driven energy management of office building HVAC systems and machine learning applications to mechanical systems.
Jeff Smith has over 30 years domestic and international high technology sales, marketing, business development, corporate development and venture capital experience in multiple industry markets. Jeff has angel investment, advisory and board of directors experience at for profit and non-profit organizations.
He is an honors graduate of Boston College School of Management, received his MBA from Southern New Hampshire University, his Masters in International Management/Finance from Thunderbird, is APICS Certified and has taken several executive education programs at both Stanford and UC Berkeley.
Zack Smith is the lead engineer at Fiorentino, the world's leading Para-anchor manufacturer. Zack designs and builds Para-anchors for mariners around the world. He also makes them for SpaceX, the Coastguard, the US Navy and to aid in astronaut retrieval from NASA' s Orion space capsule. Zack is the leading authority para-anchors and see's the HydroChute potential. He is in full support of our project and currently donates his time, labor, and expertise to our project!
